Excellent quality hunting portrait in perfect condition, circa 1790, painted full-length and of impressive dimensions. Presented in its original antique gilded frame. Clean and ready to hang, with impeccable provenance.
Provenance: Sir Charles Knightley of Fawsley Daventry, Northamptonshire. Ottoman was born in 1813; his father was Justice (Duke of Beauford's hunt) and his mother Helice (Mr. Ward's pack). Ottoman was one of Pytchley's leading stallions when Sir Charles Knightley was its master in 1818.
