Scandinavian Coffee Table In Solid Teak, Japanese Style, 20th Century, Tbe

A beautiful, atypical coffee table with a very Japanese design, meeting the criteria of the "Japandi" style.
This recent term comes from the contraction between "Japan" and "Scandinavia".
Inspired by the concepts of "Hygge", advocating intimacy and comfort in one's living space, and "Wabi-Sabi", referring here to simplicity and aesthetic sobriety, Japandi's aesthetic principles of discretion and minimalism value functional elements, to the detriment of the superfluous, sober colors, clean lines, raw materials and natural materials.

This beautiful table is the perfect answer to all these principles.
Completely made of SOLID TEAK, it is of superb quality.
The thick top ( 8 cm!), made from a single plank, has been widely skewed, to remove a heavy, massive effect.
The base also features a vertical median groove, which breaks the monoxyle appearance.
The stability of the whole is ensured by two wooden keys at the ends of the spacer.
The top rests on four nipples at the top of the legs. The whole unit can be completely and easily dismantled...

This table is quite heavy, around 30 kg, the top alone is around 20kgs!
