20th Century Sculpture Vase, Australian Rosewood Mahogany, Dlg Doug Ayers

Superb vase - bottle turned in a section of Rosewood, or Australian Rose Mahogany: "Rosewoodi Disoxylum Fraserianum", circa 1960 - 1970.
Only the top of the object has been worked, allowing the natural beauty of the wood to express itself in the lower part, with all its reliefs and meanders.
In addition to being beautiful, this object smells good!... Indeed, this tree produces an essential oil highly prized for its soothing virtues... and which can be smelled very well on the object!
Beautiful turner work, to be strongly compared to the Californian works of Doug Ayers, who died tragically young and whose sculptures are highly valued in the United States...
Under the base, a message in black ink indicates: "Rosewoodi Disoxylum Fraserianum, Timber Salvaged From Boomerang Creek, Rosebank", and a unfortunately unidentified signature... (That is, wood recovered from Boomerang Creek, near Rosebank, in New South Wales, Australia...)
Very good condition, with small cracks on the neck, but let's not forget that wood, even old, never stops "working"...
Note that this "vase" is only pierced up to about fifteen cms from the neck..., it is a false vase, exclusively decorative...
