A Pair Of Marquetry Armchairs.
A pair of particularly elegant and RARE SUR LE MARCHÉ armchairs in bone and light wood marquetry on a varnished and carved mahogany base. They are probably of English origin and date from the second half of the 19th century, circa 1880.
The wood shows minor bleaching and the fabric is very much in the spirit of these seats. (see photos). One of them has a small cigarette burn hole, so we propose to change the cover if necessary, at a cost of €60 for both, fabric and braid supplied by the buyers. Seat height: 44 cm.
