Arts berbères
This dish, 38 cm in diameter by 5 cm high and weighing a generous 2.066 kg, bears witness to the craftsmanship handed down within the Berber communities of the Maghreb. The deep black patina, obtained by smoking, gives the terracotta an almost mineral presence, while bone inlays punctuate the marli with a geometric decoration of great sobriety.
A rare object, perfectly preserved, no chips, no cracks, no restoration. It embodies the authentic aesthetic of Kabyle and High Atlas production from the early to mid-20ᵉ century.
With its raw elegance and contrasting graphics, this dish fits as naturally into a refined ethnic decor as it does into a minimalist contemporary interior. A warm, sculptural collector's piece, capable of inhabiting a space with strength and discretion.
