Carved Boxwood Gantier Hand From The 19th Century

Artist: Anonyme
I offer you this rare carved boxwood hand. It comes from the family tradition of a Chartres glove maker. The thumb is mobile and spring-loaded, allowing it to block something with the index finger, which is fixed. Perhaps a business card. No significant wear to suggest a prosthesis. Traces of very old gluing on the index and little fingers.
