Very elegant Louis XV period commode tombeau richly inlaid with precious woods and adorned with sumptuous gilded bronzes.
This remarkable piece of furniture opens with three large drawers in a curved front, embellished with superb geometric marquetry with butterfly-wing decor and contrasting frames, typical of 18th-century Parisian furniture.
The commode rests on cambered legs terminating in powerful ormolu sabots.
The jambs are adorned with magnificent, finely chased female masqueron falls.
The top features a beautiful veined marble in brown and beige tones, perfectly embracing the furniture's flowing forms.
The abundant, high-quality bronzes elegantly underscore the generous curves of this ceremonial chest of drawers:
- leafed draw handles,
- Rocaille lock escutcheons,
- flowing central apron,
- rich corner trims.
Very fine cabinetwork and superb decorative presence.
