Still Life With Pears
Oil on wood of a still life with pears signed upper right late 19th early 20th .
This still life presents a warm composition of pears, and peach arranged on a dark table. The artist plays with volumes and shades of green, red and ochre to create an intimate, classical atmosphere. The soft light particularly enhances the velvety textures of the fruit and the depth of color.
What's interesting about this still life is that the fruit is represented larger than life.
Notice One or two wormholes on the wood without incident.
