Second Empire Umbrella, Excellent Condition, France, Circa 1850

Charming mid-19ᵉ century parasol, whose canvas has been replaced, the original bangs have been retained. It is therefore perfect condition, and its use is quite possible today.
The handle is made of bone, finely carved with flowers and foliage.
The umbrella features two ingenious systems typical of the period:
- An upper metal ringallowing the canvas to be tilted when open.
- A central ring to fold the umbrella in half, for easy storage or access to a carriage.
It measures 22,04 inches long when closed and around 18,50 inches in diameter when open.
France, circa 1860.
