Circular bowl in molded Belgian black marble and chased, gilded and silvered bronze; the curvilinear handles attached to florets rise from stylized palmettes centered on masks topped with snakes; the body adorned with a double band punctuated with female masks standing out from stylized motifs; flared pedestal with molded friezes , on a squared base supported by small gilded bronze feet . Label "F Barbedienne". Second half of the 19th century.
Beautiful condition with a few minor accidents (scratches in the bowl and a few light chips on one side of the square base, patina wear on the bronze).
