Long single-shot gun; rifled round barrel, marked "RST" and control stamp. Front sight, micrometric planchette-type sights.
Culprit annotated with the various patents in capital letters: "R.S. Lawrence Pat. April 12th 1859" and "C. Sharps'Pat Oct. 5th 1852" and serial number 99563. Remainder of speckling on breech. Lawrence breechblock.
"Drop-block" breechblock locking mechanism, iron fittings and saddle ring.
Long type walnut stock fitted with its "patch box".
Very good condition.
Sharps long rifles served the US Cavalry during the American Civil War between 1861 and 1865
