Louis XV style cartel table. Beautiful mercury gilding with alternating matte and glossy finishes. Resting on a gilded bronze base, this cartel is decorated with scrolls, shells and floral motifs, and its grid sides are highly curved. The capital is crowned with a child learning to use a solar dial, hence the name "cartel a l'enfant savant" (cartel with a learned child).
The dial is in chased gilded bronze adorned with hour cartouches. The functional mechanism is signed by the Parisian watchmaker D'Auréville, located on Boulevard du Prince Eugène. Original balance wheel and key.
