N° 1670 - Pair of Aubusson tapestry portieres, 19th century
Dimensions: 55 × 175 cm each
Elegant pair of tapestry portières from the prestigious Aubusson manufacture, dating from the 19th century, exquisitely illustrating lively pastoral scenes of great decorative poetry.
Each panel features a lush setting of leafy trees, delicately colored flowers and a bucolic landscape featuring birds and a heron at the water's edge. The subtle palette of blues, ivory, beige and pinkish touches lends the whole a soft, luminous atmosphere, typical of Aubusson's decorative productions inspired by the Louis XV taste.
.The weaving work reveals a beautiful finesse of execution, highlighting the richness of the foliage and the depth of the landscape. The deep blue borders harmoniously structure the composition and accentuate the vertical elegance of these portieres.
These tapestries are a perfect complement to the Louis XV style.
These tapestries can be used as decorative wall elements, portières or ornamental panels in a classic, country chic or château interior.
