Large 18th century oil on copper depicting Saint Ambrose seated in an armchair in meditation, holding a feather in his hand.

A cross and an episcopal tiara can be seen above the armchair, as well as a whip and a snake swallowing a sinner at the bottom. The work bears a downward inscription "S. Ambrosius" with a Bible verse (see photos).

An oil on canvas depicting Saint Ambrose in a similar manner is preserved at the Colonial Museum in Bogota (see last photo).
