Deyrolle Anatomical Flayed Figure
Model No. 1.
Life-size, one arm raised, the other at the side.
It shows the tendons, muscles, arteries, veins, frontal sinuses, etc.
Polychrome papier-mâché. It is presented on its original varnished molded oak base mounted on four casters.
The lungs, kidneys, and diaphragm are missing.
Very good condition despite a small chip on the forehead, minor losses at the base of the neck, and one on the inside of the rib cage.
The removable parts are:
the head, revealing the brain and cervical vertebrae; the torso, revealing the heart (opening), stomach, liver and gallbladder, pancreas, spleen and duodenum, and intestines.
An incised imprint on the arm reads "Manufacture de matériel pour les sciences naturelles, Emile DEYROLLE, 46 rue du Bac, Paris".
A plaque on the base reads: Les fils d’Émile DEYROLLE, 46 rue du Bac, Paris.
