Yoruba Mask
A carved wooden Yoruba mask of African art, featuring a polychrome headdress with crests adorned with black-and-white dot patterns and a reddish face with eyes outlined in black.
In some respects, this type of piece is reminiscent of the helmet or crest masks of West African traditions, such as those of the Yoruba or other ethnic groups in the regions of Nigeria or Benin, characterized by polychrome wood carving and a structured headdress.
Black metal base.
First half of the 20th century.
