Meissen - Created By Paul Scheurich Porcelain Figure, Masked Dancer.
Meissen porcelain figure, Masked Dancer. Created by Paul Scheurich in 1933 inspired by an engraving by Jacques Callot (1592-1635) the "Bello Sguardo" from the "Balli di Sfessania" series of engravings. These engravings were inspired by the many street and court shows staged in Florence. The costumes, gestures and grotesque scenes reflect the spirit of 16th-century Commedia dell'arte. The figure has delicate movement and a remarkable wealth of detail, and is in perfect condition. It bears the blue crossed swords mark and the number 73317.
