Red Jaspé Marble Mantel From Cazedarnes Louis XV 19th C.
Mantel in rare Rouge Jaspé de Cazedarnes marble in the Louis XV style, carved in the mid-19th century, generously curved and in perfect condition. The curved entablature is adorned with a coat of arms, undoubtedly of complaisance, azure à la fasce d'or ou d'argent, framed by sumptuous lambrequins. The jambs are carved with scrolls, reserves and leaf drops. Both the brass hearth opening and the cast-iron base are original.
The marble, Rouge Jaspé de Cazedarnes, was quarried in the Hérault region in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. "During this period, the marble was used to make fireplaces, clocks and small objects. The exploitation was not very important."

Mantelpiece coming from Moirans in Isère.
The length of its body is 157 cm.
