Antique Edwardian Sapphire And Old Cut Diamond Swirl Cluster Brooch, Ca 1910
Edwardian Sapphire and Diamond Cluster Bar Brooch, circa 1910
A very fine antique sapphire and diamond cluster bar brooch dating to the elegant Edwardian period, finely crafted with a silver cut-down setting over an 18ct yellow gold mount, a traditional technique used in high quality antique diamond jewellery to enhance the brilliance of the stones.
The brooch is centred by a rich blue sapphire measuring approximately 4.5mm, assessed as approximately 0.50 carats, surrounded by eight old cut diamonds, each estimated at approximately 0.10 carats, forming a classic diamond cluster.
Extending from the centre are two gracefully curved diamond-set bars, each set with thirteen old cut diamonds graduating from approximately 0.01ct to 0.03ct, creating a flowing ribbon-like design typical of refined early 20th-century jewellery.
The total diamond weight is estimated at approximately 1.30 carats. The diamonds display lively brilliance and are beautifully set within the fine silver cut-down mount, a hallmark of quality Edwardian workmanship.
The brooch measures approximately 6cm in length and weighs 7.3 grams.
Fitted with an open hook clasp and safety catch.
No visible hallmarks or stamps.
