Masriera “Nymph of Love” 18K Gold Plique-à-Jour Enamel Diamond Sapphire & Pearl Brooch

An exceptional Masriera “Nymph of Love” pendant brooch, showcasing the celebrated Barcelona jeweller’s distinctive combination of Art Nouveau-inspired design, sculptural goldwork and intricate enamel craftsmanship.

Crafted in 18-karat yellow gold, the jewel depicts an elegant winged nymph or fairy with a finely modelled matte-finished figure, contrasting polished gold hair and beautifully articulated outstretched wings.

The openwork butterfly wings are decorated with luminous plique-à-jour enamel, allowing light to pass through the translucent panels in delicate shades of blue, green and lavender. Further areas of pink enamel provide an attractive contrast and emphasize the flowing contours of the design.

The upper edges of the wings are embellished with 22 round brilliant-cut diamonds, bead-set into contrasting white precious metal. The wings are additionally accented with six oval-cut pink sapphires, individually bezel-set amongst the enamel decoration.

A single white cultured drop pearl is suspended from the elongated lower section of the figure, providing an elegant finishing detail and subtle movement when the jewel is worn.

Designed for versatility, the piece incorporates both a hinged brooch pin with safety catch and integrated pendant bales, allowing it to be worn either as a brooch or suspended as a pendant.

The reverse is signed “MASRIERA” and bears the model/reference number “G-5442-G”, together with an additional small oval hallmark.
