Stamped Sotto, Louis XVI Period Chest Of Drawers In Mahogany And Grey Fossil Breccia Marble, 18th Century

Artist: Jean Laurent Sotto
Louis XVI period commode in mahogany, brass baguettes, bronzes and marble top.
Solid mahogany and veneer over oak.
A classic but very elegant model carried by fluted front uprights on toupee feet.
This chest opens with 3 large drawers, the top of which features a trompe l'oeil of 3 small drawers.
The whole is highlighted with brass baguettes.
Pull handles, lock escutcheons and original locks, we do not have the key.
The fossiliferous gray breccia marble top is very handsome and out of the ordinary, it was formerly broken and glued back on the left rear.
This delightful piece of furniture is stamped JL SOTTO for Jean Laurent Sotto, cabinetmaker established rue du Faubourg Saint Antoine in Paris between 1790 and 1799.
Louis XVI period, late XVIII th century.
