Superb very large Louis Philippe period mirror in wood and stucco gilded with gold leaf.
An unusual model with roses carved in relief on the corners and sides.
This type of mirror with flowers in relief was one of the most luxurious of its time.
The decoration alternates between doucine flat tints with bright gold leafand reliefs in stucco with roses gilded in matte leaf.
The lower crosspiece has been re-gilded by our gilder (very slight difference in the shade of the gold leaf).
The original mirror has a very slightly pitted mercury sheen. AtIn the middle of the mirror, the mercury sheen appears to have lifted1.5 cm².
Original parquet flooring at rear.
Mirror is very heavy (50-60kg), so please provide a very good hanging support.
