This is a work of great finesse executed in mixed technique: the figures, trees and landscape setting are entirely embroidered in silk thread, while the sky and facial details are hand-painted on the silk backing.
The work is presented in its magnificent period frame in wood and gilded stucco leaf, richly carved with palmettes and rais de cœur motifs, characteristic of the Empire style.el general state of preservation for a textile of this period.
