Large Delft White And Blue Faience Covered Vase Or Ginger Jar, 20th Century

This elegant and generously proportioned Delft blue covered vase is a striking example of Dutch decorative faience, beautifully executed in a rich palette of cobalt, sapphire, and deep midnight blue against a soft ivory ground. Likely produced in Holland during the mid-20th century, circa 1950–1970, the piece reflects the enduring tradition of Delftware, reinterpreting classical Dutch decorative motifs with refined craftsmanship and remarkable visual impact.

The baluster-shaped body is adorned with richly detailed floral reserves framed by ornamental vertical bands and scrolling foliate decoration, creating a harmonious and symmetrical composition inspired by historic Dutch Delft ceramics of the 17th and 18th centuries. The domed lid, finished with a simple finial, echoes the same decorative vocabulary, enhancing the overall balance and elegance of the silhouette.
