18th Century English Delftware Drug Jar Conf:cardiac Apothecary Blue "p" Mark
This 18th-century English delftware apothecary jar is an ovoid-shaped ceramic vessel made of tin-glazed earthenware. The exterior surface is covered in a white glaze featuring hand-painted cobalt blue decorations. The central motif is a decorative cartouche consisting of a central shell flanked by winged cherubs and floral swags. Within this frame, the jar is inscribed with "CONF:CARDIAC" in uppercase blue lettering. The underside reveals a flat, unglazed foot rim surrounding a recessed, glazed base marked with a single hand-painted blue "P" at the center. The jar measures 17 cm in height and 14 cm in width at its widest point, with a total weight of 895 grams.
