Mahogany Revolving Bookcase, England - 1st Half 20th Century
This English mahogany revolving bookcase is a refined piece, combining decorative elegance and ingenuity. It rests on a pivoting base that allows easy access to the books arranged on each of its sides, while maintaining a compact footprint. The top is molded and the three-tiered mahogany structure has a warm patina. The openwork uprights, each formed of four slats, typical of English revolving bookcases, give the piece of furniture a beautiful visual lightness. The various storage levels offer generous capacity for bound books, novels, paperbacks or decorative objects. The unit stands on four castors. The whole is distinguished by a balanced silhouette, characteristic of the late Victorian style, which fits equally well in a classic interior or in a contemporary setting seeking a piece of character.
