Fan, gouache on paper and wood, painted by the Spanish artist Ignacio Chapartegui in Seville, depicting the Peruvian pavilion at the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition. This pavilion was built based on a design by the Spanish architect, sculptor, and urban planner Manuel Piqueras Cotolí (Lucena, Córdoba 1886 – Lima, 1937), then a professor at the School of Fine Arts in Lima and the creator of the Neo-Peruvian style. This building sought to harmonize the Hispanic and Pre-Columbian heritages of Peru.
