Trained by Virginie Demont-Breton and her husband Adrien Demont, he led a multi-faceted career, combining the functions of examining magistrate and engineer with his passion for painting. His talent was quickly recognized: honorable mention in 1891, third-class medal in 1905, then second-class in 1906. These distinctions culminated in his appointment to the rank of Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur, crowning a career marked by rigor and sensitivity.
