Carved Polychrome Wood
Carved polychrome, gilded and silvered wood torch holder depicting a Roman soldier from 18th century Italy. The soldier is depicted standing on a stack of gilded and silvered helmets and shields, adorned with a gilded cornucopia. He is dressed in a delicately sculpted orange drapery and gilded cuirass, holding a tray above his head with one hand. It ends with a polychrome wooden base in imitation of antique green marble.
