Modernist Art Deco Dressing Table, France Circa 1925
I'm delighted to present for sale a spectacular Art Deco piece of furniture.
It's a dresser, collector's display case and money chest, made in France circa 1925.
What's immediately striking about this piece of furniture is both its modernist, almost sculptural appearance and the refined richness of the materials used in its design.
This piece of furniture consists of a lower section with three doors, the first of which conceals five drawers, the first two of which are designed to hold cutlery, while the other three close a beautiful storage space including a large shelf, all trimmed in varnished bird's-eye maple.
The icing on the cake: two sliding marble serving shelves are recessed above the doors.
The upper part of the cabinet is an illuminated display case with dual access either from the front via two sliding glass doors, or from the side via a hinged, lockable glass section.
The lighting system is concealed by semi-opaque white opaline glass panels.
The cabinet's exterior is trimmed with a magnificent veneer of polished amboyna burr embellished with high quality cylindrical handles in silver patinated brass.
The interior is veneered with mahogany and bird's-eye maple.
The three original keys are still present.
The locks are all functional.
This piece of furniture is in near-perfect condition.
It was recently restored by its previous owner.
The refurbishment work is of very high quality.
It has been completely varnished and polished, its electrical system is functional and the glass elements show no signs of chipping.
This is a magnificent piece of furniture, completely original, restored and offering your interior an undeniable decorative presence while offering ample storage capacity, all enhanced by the luminous touch of the display case: what more could you ask for?
