Pair of wall brackets. Gilt bronze, porcelain. French school, late 19th century.
Pair of small gilded bronze wall brackets, decorated with relief elements of clearly classical inspiration (architectural motifs, scrolls, fluted moldings, garlands of roses, ribbons, etc.), following the current trends of the 19th-century French school. Each shelf features three enameled porcelain plaques decorated in the colors and forms typical of the Manufacture de Sèvres (Manufacture nationale de Sèvres): two with a medallion of flowers and a blue border (all four are different), and a larger one in the center with a medallion depicting a female portrait (both are different: one shows a young woman in a frame of gilded flowers; the other depicts a lady with covered hair and a plain gilded frame). Note that the backs of these medallions and plaques are unmarked, with a few imperfections not visible on the front. As is often the case with this type of French School decorative piece, there are other similar examples, varying in the porcelain medallions and the number of porcelain plates on the bases.
Weight: 1.87 kg and 1.86 kg. - Dimensions: 27 x 10 x 18.5 cm
