Bust Of Marie Antoinette
An exquisitely refined hard-paste porcelain sculpture depicting Marie Antoinette, made at the Sèvres Manufactory, 19th century.
The figure is depicted with her face slightly turned and a pensive expression.
The decorative details are very refined; in particular, the hairstyle features curls defined with extreme precision, among which are set minute floral elements.
The drapery of the gown, rendered with almost tactile realism, is embellished with a sophisticated raised lace border and a garland of roses. The bust rests on a turned spindle-shaped base, supported by a quadrangular plinth.
On the back is an unidentified signature.
