Ceramic Vase With Glaze Drips, Oxblood Red, Jean Marc Rostain, Santilly 1980's
Artist: Jean-marc Rostan, Santilly (soâne Et Loire), Années 1980
CERAMIC / CONTEMPORARY STONEWARE (20th century)
Superb ceramic vase, signed Jean-Marc ROSTAN in Santilly (Saône & Loire)
1980's
Stylized enameled signature on the background with initials JMR
The piece, of very elegant shape, with a small narrow neck, is covered in very beautiful shinny glaze drips with subtle gradients of reddish-brown, blue-grey, pearly black, and oxblood red.
The production of artistic pieces by this ceramic artist, who is no longer active, seems relatively rare, and I found few reference pieces (photos on request). Nevertheless, common features include curved and soft shapes, fairly pure, and an abstract aesthetic that highlights the ceramic itself rather than a figurative style.
Perfect condition
Dimensions:
20 cm diameter and 30 cm heigth
