Alfons Vermeir, 1905-1994, Belgian painter, watercolorist and draughtsman. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and the Higher Institute of Antwerp (NHISKA), where he was a pupil of Walter Stevens, Alfred Courtens and Albert Saverys. Predilection for rural landscapes, peasants at work, portraits, views of the port and Scheldt and picturesque corners of Antwerp. He is known for his expressionist design, in which gray tones dominate against tormented skies. Artist listed at Bénézit (with sample signature), Arto and Piron. Listed on Artprice, Artnet, Akoun.....
This paper is in very good condition. No Stains.
The painting, never cleaned, not dirty, is in perfect original condition.
Recent painted wood frame and passe partout in the tones of the work.
