By Mrs. Mithe Espelt -
A superb rectangular box by the celebrated lunelloise ceramist Mithé Espelt (1923-2020).
An exceptional mastery of two colors in blueand gold (often concealed under the glaze), here in the service of a geometric relief decoration.
Theis in very good condition, with bright colors and a glossy glaze
Instamped and glazed earthenware, crackled gold.
The black-painted oak base, emerald-green felts are original andare original and the artist's own, present under the base inside the box and at the base of the lid itself.
An increa singly sought-after collector's piece. Typical of Mithé Espelt's work, this box bears no signature (as was the rule for the artist, who wished to keep his accessible), but its style is immediately recognizable.
