Art Nouveau "water Lilies" Clock
Beautiful Art Nouveau clock in the style of Majorelle.
Made of bronze, brass, and rosewood with pewter and mother-of-pearl inlays.
The dial is based on designs by Majorelle.
The pewter and mother-of-pearl inlaid plaques are reminiscent of the work of George Nowak, a prominent Parisian cabinetmaker.
The movement is signed Leforestier, rue Rambuteau, on the backplate.
Leforestier was a large watch and clock shop at the turn of the 20th century, now demolished and replaced by the Centre Pompidou.
The clock is complete with its key and pendulum, and is in working order and keeps time, but has not been recently serviced.
