Made of solid walnut, with characteristic dovetail joints clearly visible on the sides, the chest, of modest proportions, is adorned on thefront with elaborate locks featuring a double opening mechanism. On the sides, it is fitted with handles and rosette-shaped plates with openwork delicate plant motifs in the late Gothic style, as on the front. The inner surface of the lid, with strip hinges recessed into the wood, was once adorned at the ends with openwork medallions, which are unfortunately missing , though traces of them remain. It is also soberly inlaid with geometric designs in boxwood and walnut. Inside, it features a series of compartments, also bordered by delicate fillets.
