Openwork Cuff Bracelet Motif Muguet Diamonds On Belle Epoque Yellow Gold
Bracelet in 750/°° yellow gold (18 KT, horsehead hallmark, 1838-1919) with chased decoration of a finely chased sprig of lily of the valley, adorned with rose-cut diamonds.
By its linear treatment and refinement, it belongs to the production of the late 19th century, at the hinge between the Napoleon III style and the beginnings of Art Nouveau, in the Belle Époque aesthetic.
In fact, the fluid, asymmetrical treatment of the motif is part of a late naturalism heralding Art Nouveau, situating the piece in the Belle Époque period, circa 1890-1910.
As for its rigid rush / ribbon volume, this is a nineteenth-century legacy. Generally oval to fit the shape of the wrist, it is open because articulated by an invisible hinge. This bracelet has a ratchet clasp that is also virtually invisible, and is embellished with a safety chain.
