ALBERS Josef (1888 - 1976) was one of the most influential abstract painters and art teachers of the twentieth century. Albers's artistic career, which spanned from 1922 at the Weimar Bauhaus and later in the US, at Black Mountain College and in the 1950’s at Yale University in New Haven Connecticut, focused mainly on the investigation of the perceptual properties of color and spatial relationships of forms.
