Venetian painter (early 17th century) - Madonna and Child with Saint George and Saint Nicholas.

Oil on panel, in a later carved and gilded wooden frame.

The painting depicts the Virgin at the centre of the composition, supporting the Christ Child as he reaches toward the flanking figures. On the left, Saint George appears partially clad in armour; on the right, Saint Nicholas. The dark ground and warm chiaroscuro lighting reflect the Venetian painting tradition of the early seventeenth century, with affinities to the broader North Italian figurative culture of the period. On the reverse of the panel, a later manuscript inscription bears the name "Mastelletta", an old attributive reference to the Bolognese painter Giovanni Andrea Donducci (Bologna 1575 - 1655).
