Marie-Josèphe Bourron (1931-2012) is a French sculptor who was initially introduced to working with clay by François Soubeyran who, in addition to being a singer in the group "Les Frères Jacques", was also a potter. She then entered the Beaux-Arts in Paris, where she learned modeling, stone-cutting and metalworking. From 1974, she took part in the Salon des Artistes Indépendants, and also participated in exhibitions in France, the USA and Germany. Her work focuses on the nude, in particular the female body, which she magnifies through a wide variety of poses. Her work has won several awards, including the Silver Medal of the City of Paris and the Washington Sculpture Prize.
