Soup Tureen In Sarreguemines Fine Earthenware, Carmen Model, Blue Décor 19th-20th Century
Fine earthenware tureen, iron ground, with blue transfer decoration, "Carmen" model from the Sarreguemines manufacture, late 19th or early 20th century work. Beautiful round form resting on a small pedestal, original side handles and lid, the whole decorated with delicate floral decoration in an elegant and romantic naturalistic spirit.
Max width approx. 29cm including handles, diameter approx. 24cm, height approx. 24cm with lid and 14cm without. Very good overall condition, with a small hair on the edge of the body and a second, longer hair near/at the base of one handle, both discreet and not weakening, some traces of external patina consistent with age, fine, natural cracking of the enamel, and slight firing defects notably at the junction of one handle. The interior shows a lightly burnished patina with a few stains, consistent with age and use. Approx. 1.200kg.
