Claude Rameau(1876-1955)was nicknamed the painter of the Loire,born in Bourbon-Lancy,he enrolled in Paris ,at the Julian academy and frequented the studios of Bouguereau and Gabriel Ferrier.In 1922, he became a member of the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts, and in 1937, he helped decorate the Nivernais pavilion at the Exposition Internationale des Arts et Techniques Appliqués à la Vie Moderne. In 1956, a retrospective exhibition of his work was held at the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts, and can be seen in the museums of Cosnes-sur-Loire, Bourbon-Lancy and Nevers.
