Louis XV Console With Black Marble Top
Louis XV console with black marble top
Sculpted wood with patina, decorated with rococo motifs and featuring a serpentine shape, topped by a veined black marble top
Rococo elements, including a central cartouche, rich plant carvings (in the form of leaves) and elegant cabriole legs linked by a richly decorated asymmetrical crosspiece
The surface features a superb chalky violet-gray hue, with subtle shades of pale green, mint or teal blue in the deepest carvings. Touches of gold leaf give it a warm, coppery tone, worn to a matte finish.
Good vintage condition, a small chip in the marble
123 cm wide, 36 cm deep and 85 cm high
Late 19th century Italian craftsmanship.
