18th Century Directoire Period Mahogany And Ebony Knitting Coffee Table
late 18the century coffee table made of mahogany veneer, ebony inclusions and blackened wood fillets. Two pilaster-shaped uprights unite three spacer trays topped by a drop-front bowl top. An "flying" piece of furniture, designed to be moved as needed, it is intended for the living room, to hold ladies' books or for a snack. Directoire period's production, circa 1790s, late 18th century.
