The frame, of a type known as "francesina," is a 18th-century Venetian piece. The term refers to a model of French origin, borrowed from the repertoire of baguettes and Louis XV frames popular in Paris during the 18th century, and adapted by Venetian workshops to local tastes. The structure features two bands of simple carving framing a smooth central panel, following a deliberately flat and linear profile, in contrast to the more projecting Baroque frames. The gilding, applied to a prepared ground, retains its warm color with widespread patina from aging.

Condition report: Overall good condition. There are areas where the gilding is missing or flaking, small gaps in the carving, and signs of wear consistent with the age of the piece.
