Charming set of three polychrome porcelain figurines, depicting Guan Yu (Kwan-Kung), god of loyalty and justice, accompanied by two attendants.
.The central figure, shown seated, embodies this famous hero of the Three Kingdoms period (220-280 AD), an emblematic figure of Chinese culture, still revered for its values of integrity and loyalty.
The pieces are decorated in a rich palette of famille rose glazes ,characterized by soft, nuanced tones (pinks, greens, yellows), with a delicate, slightly satin finish typical of this technique developed under the Qing dynasty.
Provenance: Set accompanied by a certificate of antiquity issued in Hong Kong in 1987 by C.Y. Tse Antiques & Collectibles
