Louis XV Period Desk And Writing Table, 19th Century

Small 19th-century walnut desk

Charming little walnut writing desk or table, French work of the 19th century, of Louis XV inspiration.
It rests on four finely molded curved legs, linked by a scalloped belt opening at the front with a central drawer adorned with a bronze keyhole.

The curved top is embellished with elegant walnut frieze decoration arranged in a herringbone pattern, emphasized by a frame, offering a fine decorative quality and a pleasing depth of veining.

The ensemble features harmonious proportions and a light line, characteristic of 19th-century amenity furniture, ideal as an occasional desk, writing table or small coffee table.
