Empire Period Creusot Crystal And Mahogany Liqueur Cellar - Complete With Glasses
Artist: Le Creusot
Beautiful early 19th century liqueur or whisky cellar. It includes6 bottles and 12 goblets in Le Creusot crystal, housed in a luxurious mahogany veneered case withmahogany veneer with brass corners, rectractable lyre handles and a blank monogrammed plate.monogrammed. The interior is sheathed in gilded red moroccogilding. Each decanter has its ownand numbered in the box, making it possible to draw up a list of the spirits presentedlike several whiskies or Cognacs, while still being able to identify eacheven in the absence of a label. Our cellar has kept its rare set of 12 liqueur tumblers on the red morocco-covered stand, an accessory that has generally disappeared. It is therefore extremely complete, including its working key.
This is a late Empire or early Restoration work, circa 1820.
The original glassware is molded and cut crystal.
The set is in excellent condition. Carafes and goblets intact, a few small chips at the ends of the stoppers. The re-entrant part of the neck is not visible. The pad varnish has been cleaned and repolished by our cabinetmaker, minor localized veneer resumption.
