From 1937 to 1941, he learned the trade of wood modelerat the École Nationale Professionnelle de Saint-Étienne. At the end of 1945, he attended evening classes at the Conservatoire National des Artset Métiers. Between 1946 and 1947, he studied at the ÉcoleSupérieure du Bois. In 1948 and 1949, he took evening classes at theInstitut d'Urbanisme de Paris. 1980 and 1981, he returned to university benchesthe universities of Vincennes and Saint-Denis as an Arts student.
